| Garfield Park Conservatory 09.19.2011 10:00PM On Saturday I headed to the Garfield Park Conservatory with my parents who were in town visiting for the weekend. Part of the Chicago Park District, the Conservatory is free and boasts a wide array of flowers housed in green houses as well as outdoor gardens. This summer Chicago had some epic storms including some with massive hail which significantly damaged the Conservatory. Nearly half the green houses are closed for repair due to the damage. But there was still plenty to see and with perfect lighting I had a field day snap photographs of what has become my favorite summer subject - flowers. Along with perfect lighting conditions the background of surrounding plants helped create some fabulous bokeh. Check out the photos below, I think they include some of the best flower photographs I've taken. Enjoy. |
