St. Charles, Illinois

Yesterday I headed to St. Charles, Illinois, about an hour from my place, to photograph a project for work. I had been planning to photograph the project for nearly two weeks, but the weather never cooperated. But yesterday the rained ceased and for the first time in April it was sunny and above the average temperature. It was a perfect day to photograph - blue skies and partly cloudy. St. Charles is bisected by the Fox River which, with all the rain, was a torrent over flowing its banks. You'll see the project in the first few photos (we restored the plaza of the R. Harold Zook designed art moderne Municipal Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places). The other photos are from along Main Street and Baker Memorial Park, which was slowly bursting to life with colorful flowers.
