| It's All in the Detail 04.02.2011 7:00PM Twelve days after the calendar announced the arrival of spring, it arrived in Chicago. Today, temperatures rose to the mid-50s, as the sun shined through puffy clouds set against a blue sky. That's my ideal situation for shooting photographs. So I grabbed the camera and strolled around the neighborhood. I walked up and down streets I've been on countless times, but this time I took particular care to examine the architectural detail of the buildings. From carved stone, to intricate wrought iron and decorative windows, Chicago has it all. You'll see examples of all below. It's a fine detail you certainly don't find with most of today's steamlined and sterile designs. Truly a lost art. Do enjoy. |
