Thunder Blizzard 2011

Thundersnow is the rare event of a thunderstorm during a snow event. Combine that occurrence with 35+ winds, zero visibility, and a storm lasting nearly two days and you have Thunder Blizzard. It's happening right now outside my window. However, before things got completely out of hand, I ventured out around Lincoln Park and toward Lake Michigan to assess the situation. The photos below illustrate what I saw between 5PM-6:15PM. While it was supposedly the less bad part of the storm it was bad, nonetheless. Strong winds. Blowing snow. No visibility. It was awesome. Live, vicariously, through Thunder Blizzard 2011 with me. There will be new photos tomorrow!
